Tab NZ

Seamless, in venue wagering that mirrors the app

TAB New Zealand, operated by Entain NZ, launched a new self-service terminal experience in March 2025 – beginning at Manukau City TAB and expanding to more than 450 venues nationwide.

The objective was to bring the speed, appearance and features of the TAB app into retail, pub and club locations  – simplifying the betting journey for every customer.

The Challenge

Retail wagering terminals in New Zealand had fallen behind digital channels. Users faced slow screens, outdated interfaces and inconsistent bet building experiences.

TAB needed a solution that would:

  • Reflect the look and feel of its app and website in-store
  • Provide fast, intuitive touch screens for frequent and casual punters alike
  • Support multiple venue types  – retail stores, pubs & clubs, racetracks
  • Be durable, secure and easy to use in busy wagering environments

The Solution

NEO partnered with Entain NZ to create a suite of self service wagering terminals that deliver a unified omni channel experience.

Key features include:

  • A consistent user interface that mirrors the TAB app and website
  • High-performance touchscreens designed for high traffic
  • Bet-builder workflows, multis, multiple payment options and improved funding pathways
  • Flexible deployment across indoor retail stores, pubs/clubs and outdoor racetrack settings

The rollout began with the first terminals at Manukau City TAB in early 2025 and will scale to retail outlets, hospitality venues and racecourses across the country.

The Outcome

The new terminals have elevated the in-venue wagering experience for TAB customers. They deliver faster, more intuitive service and bring the retail offering into line with digital expectations.

For TAB New Zealand, the benefits include:

  • Consistent experience across digital and physical channels
  • Improved speed and reliability of in-venue betting
  • Enhanced venue capability to support a broader set of customer interactions
  • A future-ready platform that supports ongoing growth and innovation in retail wagering
